From occupied Paris in the 1940s to the urban and pop sounds of France today, French music has always been a reflection of its time: poetry amid war, youthful boldness in the 1960s, passion and protest in the following decades, and eventually the contemporary voices that engage with the world.
In this show, we invite you on a musical journey spanning more than eight decades of history, revisited through original arrangements for voice, piano, and electric guitar.
The piano, represented here by keyboards for logistical reasons, brings the tradition of chanson, poetry, and delicacy.
The electric guitar brings the necessary and authentic modernity, the rhythm of youth, and an openness to the world.
The voice guides the narrative, revealing emotion and interpretation throughout each era.
